The “Only Murders in the Building” star opted for a sleeveless Brandon Maxwell maxidress featuring a corseted patent leather bodice. Gomez accessorized with peep-toe pumps by Black Suede Studio and Stephanie Gottlieb jewelry, completing her look with a double-breasted Ducie London coat, cat-eye Linda Farrow shades and a Completedworks clutch.
Gomez was assisted by her stylist of nearly a year, Erin Walsh, whose other high-profile clients include Anne Hathaway, Jessica Alba and Alison Brie.
The Rare Beauty founder wore her dark tresses in a long bob with auburn highlights, while her makeup consisted of coral blush and a glossy lip.
At the Time 100 Summit, Gomez discussed her makeup brand amid reports of the company exploring an IPO. “I genuinely just wanted to make makeup that was fun for people,” Gomez said. “Personally, I felt that there’s a very unrealistic standard when it comes to the cosmetic world, and it makes me a little sad for my generation and for anyone to look at something that’s probably touched up and made to look nice. I just wanted to break that down. I don’t believe in having to look a certain way.”

“I wanted it to feel good when you were using my products,” she continued. “All of our products are named based on uplifting things.…We try to be very conscious of even naming the products to be reminders of joy or just finding yourself.”
The actress and entrepreneur also discussed her battles with mental health. Gomez has previously opened up about her diagnosis with bipolar depression.
“It’s actually a bit freeing once I was able to get it out because for years, I was so confused that my emotions were so intense,” Gomez explained. “And it was very confusing and then I went into psychosis, and all these confusing things were happening. And once I finally found the answer, it wasn’t, ‘Oh, I have this problem.’ It actually made me feel better to know and understand what was happening in my mind. And I actually found it to be less scary.”
