Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco Are Engaged After One Year of Dating

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are taking a major next step in their whirlwind relationship. The Rare Beauty founder revealed in a December 11 Instagram post that she and the music producer are engaged, and showed off the stunning ring that now lives proudly on her left hand.

The photoset featured a series of images of how Gomez and Blanco's engagement likely went down, with the first photo providing a clear look at the pointed oval-shaped diamond ring. The second image showed Gomez admiring the ring in a garden-like picnic setting surrounded by boxes of Taco Bell. In the third snap the Rare Beauty founder takes shows off her ring in a selfie, and the subsequent photo features her and Blanco hugging and smiling for the camera, with the rings visible. "Forever begins now," Gomez captioned the photo.

Gomez and Blanco's engagement comes months after fans speculated that the former Disney Channel star was hiding a ring on social media—she posted a photo to Instagram in August with her left ring finger covered up with a big heart emoji, leading to fans to believe that Blanco had proposed. In the subsequent weeks, Gomez wore multiple gold rings on her left hand, including while running errands and at the 2024 Emmy Awards in September.

A wedding is up next for the couple, but Blanco hinted at engagement and his future plans with Gomez for months. During an interview on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show, Blanco said he thinks about having kids with Gomez “every day,” and his “next goal” is to start a family.

“That’s my next goal, to check the box,” Blanco said during an interview on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show. “I have a ton of godkids; I’ve got a ton of nephews. I love being around kids.” When asked about engagement at the time, he said, “I take everything a day at a time. I just know that when I look at her, I just say, ‘I don’t know a world where it could be better than this.’ That’s what I always say to her.”
