What Is 'The Seer' Twist Debuting on 'The Traitors' Next Week?

We're approaching the endgame of The Traitors Season 3. With only seven players left, we're down to just one Traitor in Danielle Reyes, though the episode ended on a cliffhanger as to whether she would successfully recruit Big Brother bestie Britney Haynes. But there's another open end to address, as host Alan Cumming warned the remaining players that, the next day, they would get the chance to get a new power.

In terms of what the Peacock series has shown us, there's not much we know about the power so far. The preview of next episode shows that it is called "The Seer," and appears to be a new role in this Mafia-like game of treachery. The good news is, even if Peacock isn't going to tell us what "The Seer" is until next week, we actually have a good sense as to what it might be, based on another Traitors series.

We don't have to travel far to find out what "The Seer" does. In fact, we can actually stay in the same castle! That's because the set in Scotland that houses the American version of The Traitors also houses The Traitors UK. The British version of the series was actually the first English-language version, an adaptation of the Netherlands' De Verraders. The Traitors UK utilizes a cast entirely of civilians, as opposed to the reality TV and celebrity-filled cast that has become the norm in the U.S.

The same production company works on both the American and British versions of Traitors. So transcontinental viewers might find a lot of similarities in how both seasons are structured. Many challenges seen on The Traitors US Season 3 popped up in its British counterpart (which aired in January 2025). That includes the chess-themed competition from this most recent episode, which saw previous Traitors Kate Chastain and Parvati Shallow return to preside over a game of sussing out what the players think of each other.

What is The Seer twist on The Traitors Season 3?

It's no surprise, then, that The Traitors UK Season 3 debuted their own version of "The Seer" power. Albeit, it came a bit later, as the power was introduced during the challenge in the penultimate episode. The best individual performer who survived the Round Table was given the role of "The Seer." That night, they had the ability to pick one of the fellow players for a sit down meeting. And, in said gathering, the person would be forced to reveal their role, whether as a Faithful or, more crucially, as a Traitor.

How did The Seer twist work on The Traitors UK?

This is a power that has massive repercussions in the game, and we saw just that in the UK. At the final five players, only one Traitor was remaining. Another Faithful became "The Seer" and picked one of their closest allies, hoping to assuage any paranoia that they were bad. Unfortunately, they picked the sole Traitor, who was forced to out their deception. It's no surprise, then, that the information was quickly outed, and the Traitor was voted out at the very next Round Table.

Will The Seer twist be different in the US version of The Traitors?

Of course, while there is past precedent for "The Seer," that doesn't mean we'll get an exact carbon copy in the American version. The two editions have always instituted similar, yet not completely identical versions of twists and challenges. In fact, the two versions are often filmed back-to-back, giving production a "dry run" to make certain tweaks. So even though "The Seer" power will most likely be the same, it may not be determined by challenge performance.

Regardless, Danielle ended this episode on a high, having banished her fellow Traitor "frenemy" Carolyn Wiger and putting out the recruitment offer to Britney. She spoke to her earlier in the episode about crossing the finish line together. With the power of "The Seer," though, that dream may quickly turn into a nightmare.
