Matt James remains unbothered—or at least, that's what he wants us to think. Three weeks after announcing his split from Rachael Kirkconnell with a breakup prayer on Instagram, the former Bachelor star made his return to social media to post...a video of himself running in Kenya.
It's not too surprising that Matt is posting travel content—it's his thing after all—but to do so after Rachael's explosive Call Her Daddy interview is definitely going to raise some eyebrows in Bachelor Nation. "Morning run with friends in Kenya," he wrote alongside the short clip, posted on Thursday, February 6. It's giving "no comment."
Comments are currently disabled on his post, but if they weren't, my guess is he'd have a lot of fans wondering why he's not responding to Rachael's claims.
Speaking with Alex Cooper last week, Rachael revealed that, though she and Matt had decided to breakup, she was completely blindsided by his Instagram announcement. On January 16, he posted a photo of the two from The Bachelor, writing in part, "Father God, give Rachael and I strength to mend our broken hearts." According to Rachael, this was posted the very day they decided to split, while she was on an international flight from Japan to the United States without Wi-Fi.
In that same interview, Rachael also revealed that they broke up in part because he admitted he couldn't see himself marrying her. "He said that at the end of the day, there were just qualities about me that he worried about having in a wife," she said. "It was just one of those things where he, I think, just had this realization that, 'I should want to propose to you by this time. Like, at this point in our relationship, I should be wanting those things and I should be ready for that.'" This after four years of dating. Oh, and did I mention they met on a reality show that's all about getting engaged?
If you were wondering whether or not Matt would tell his side of the story, his latest Instagram post seems to suggest that he's going to stay silent on this one.
