Kristen Wiig has made a few appearances on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show, each time donning a new celebrity disguise. Wiig has impersonated Michael Jordan, Harry Styles and now Game Of Thrones’ famous Daenerys Targaryen or Khaleesi, to hilarious effect on the show.
Wiig definitely looked the part: she had the matted, white-blonde tendrils, the snakeskin print armour-style dress (complete with sketched-in cleavage) and, yes, a dragon sitting on her shoulder. (“His name is Karl, Karly Karleesia”)
But was she a convincing Khaleesi? The jury’s out on this one. Wiig's schtick, of course, is that she barely knows the characters she is impersonating, but we doubt she has even watched an episode of Game Of Thrones, telling Fallon that she lives in a forest in a dome her dragons built for her, that her real name is Karen and that her favourite greeting is a straight-from-the-Valley “Hiiiiiii”.
And, in a meta twist of fate, can you guess who Khaleesi’s favourite actress is? Kristen Wiig of course. “I LOVE her,” Khaleesi told Fallon. “I met her on the flight over.”
