If you haven’t heard the news, Cosmo celebrated Valentine’s Day a lil early with the inaugural Cosmopolitan Love Ball—hosted in partnership with Bumble and the BOOM at The Standard, High Line—and a time was HAD. The festivities included poetic mind readers, Bumble-yellow bracelets for singles looking to share their relationship status, music by Las Flaquitas, and a Loose Goose DJ set by Gus Dapperton. And I’d be remiss not to mention one of the highlights of the night, which was the live performance by rapper JT.

If JT (born Jatavia Johnson) isn’t on your radar yet, then it’s high time to educate yourself, friends. Though she was previously part of the hip-hop duo City Girls with Yung Miami, JT kicked off her solo career in 2023 with her debut single, “No Bars.” In July 2024, she released her first solo EP, City Cinderella, and a month later, she embarked on her 21-stop City Cinderella Tour.

Since then, JT has collaborated with everyone from Gucci Mane to Camila Cabello to Doechii, and I can’t wait to continue to see her star rise.
