Costco’s bakery has a long history of releasing fan favorites, from its famous pumpkin pie (already back for the season) to muffins and the oh-so-tasty Orange Dreamsicle Cheesecake. Now, another beloved item is making its long-awaited return—and fans can’t get enough of it.

Costco Brings Back Its Caramel Tres Leches Bar Cake

As a lover of all things tres leches, you can imagine how excited I was to see that Costco is bringing back its fan-favorite Caramel Tres Leches Bar Cake.

“This cake will melt in your mouth,” said Laura Jayne Lamb, creator of the popular Costco fan Instagram account @costcohotfinds. She also says that it will pair well with a cup of coffee. While a traditional tres leches cake is a sponge cake soaked in sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and cream, Costco’s version is slightly different.

Costco's take on the classic dessert features two layers of soaked sponge cake with a caramel custard mousse between the layers, topped with a light layer of caramel sauce. In my opinion, this version looks similar to Mexican flan, and I’m all for it!

Lamb also noted that this year’s version looks slightly different than in previous years. While the original still had the sponge and mousse, it was also topped with what looked like sprinkles. This year, it’s topped with little pieces of chocolate. Still, fans are ecstatic for its return.

“Oh, this will definitely be on my weekly Costco run,” one user commented, with many others agreeing. The cake is available at Costco locations nationwide for $17.99, but you'll want to snag one before it flies off the shelves.
