Sean Penn Makes Red Carpet Debut in Morocco with Girlfriend Valeria Nicov, 30

Sean Penn and Valeria Nicov are going public with their romance.

The 64-year-old actor was joined by his 30-year-old model girlfriend at the 21st Marrakech International Film Festival in Morocco on Saturday, Nov. 30.

Penn wore a smart suit and tie for the occasion as Nicov looked glamorous in a black draped gown with her dark hair worn in a top knot.

The Oscar winner was being honored at the festival on the second day of the event for his successful career as an actor and director. And he took the opportunity to ask the audience “to be as politically incorrect as their heart desires,” per Variety.

“For those of you with any familiarity with me and what has been my life, you’ll understand that I don’t often miss the opportunity to say an opinion," he said, per the outlet.

He continued: “Around the world [there is] this demand for diversity — but not diversity of behavior and not diversity of opinion or language. I would just encourage everybody to engage diversity and to keep telling those stories.”

Other guests at the evening in Morocco included Monica Bellucci and Tim Burton.

Penn’s new romance comes after he revealed in June that he was “thrilled every day” to be single.

In an interview with The New York Times published Saturday, Jun. 22. Penn said, "I'm just free. If I'm going to be in a relationship, I’m still going to be free, or I'm not going to be in it, and I’m not going to be hurting. I don't sense I'll have my heart broken by romance again."

Penn also told the outlet that his "friends in the female department," who are "beautiful, wonderful people, wonderful with their partners or wonderful on their own," have shown him that "relationships don’t have to be dramatic or draining."

He added that he no longer loves the "drama in romance" and avoids "unnecessary drama and visits from“the trauma gods."

The actor was previously married to Madonna from 1985 to 1989. In 1996, he tied the knot with Robin Wright, with whom he shares daughter Dylan Frances Penn, 33, and son Hopper Jack Penn, 30.

After their 2010 divorce, he tied the knot with Australian actress Leila George in 2020. In October 2021, George filed for divorce, and the process was finalized in April 2022. He's also been romantically linked to Charlize Theron, Scarlett Johansson, and actress Olga Korotyayeva.
