Scouted: I Finally Got My Hands on Pamela Anderson’s Sold-Out Cleanser, and I Totally Get the Hype

I didn’t have Pamela Anderson as a skincare brand founder on my 2024 bingo card, but last year, the former Baywatch star-turned-activist officially entered the beauty space, acquiring Sonsie Skin. The minimalist beauty brand focuses on offering “thoughtfully crafted essentials,” for all skin types—especially sensitive skin. Anderson has also garnered praise in the last year for rocking a bare face and showcasing her glowing skin at several events, so her entry into skincare couldn’t come at a better time.
That said, the celebrity beauty space is crowded—and not all of them are created equal. Plus, given that this wasn’t Anderson’s brainchild initially, I was skeptical. After reading several glowing reviews of the brand’s newly launched Cleansing Mousse, I was indeed curious to see if it would live up to the hype.
When I opened the package, I was struck by how gorgeous the bottle was. I was tempted to continuously tap my fingernails on the chic glass bottle adorned with a playful, modern font. I was also pleased to see that it was designed with an ergonomic pump that gently spewed out the perfect dose of cleanser. But it’s the formula that really blew me away—even as an ever-discerning beauty journalist.
The mousse-to-foam formula quickly melted off my makeup with just a hint of water—no double cleaning required. Going in a second time for good measure, I not only felt adequately cleansed but also refreshed. More importantly, unlike many other foaming face washes, the sensitive-skin-friendly formula didn’t leave my skin feeling tight or stripped.
Apparently, I wasn’t the only fan. The cleanser has been sold out since Dec. 2024, and was just recently restocked as of Feb. 7 due to a surge in customer requests.
“It’s a cleanser that has a very personal connection to us, in how it smells and how it makes us feel,” Sonsie co-founder Marie von Behrens-Felipe said. “It’s perfect for those who are usually skeptical about cleansers, especially those with sensitive, dry-prone skin—something we’ve heard from many customers.” But don’t think for a second that Anderson didn’t apply her personal touch to the product.
“One of its key ingredients [in the cleanser] is inspired by Pamela’s love for her rose garden,” von Behrens-Felipe said, adding that The Last Showgirl actress has consistently been involved with the brand’s product development process. “She always carries homemade rose oil with her as a way to bring a little piece of home wherever she goes, so it felt natural to incorporate this ingredient into our cleanser.” The cleanser is also Leaping Bunny certified, vegan, and certified plastic negative (with recycling instructions included on the website).
