Savannah Chrisley Details Hardships With Siblings After Parents Imprisoned
Savannah Chrisley, who originally gained fame with her family on the reality TV series Chrisley Knows Best, is opening up about how her life changed following her parents Todd and Julie Chrisley's convictions and imprisonment.
The 27-year-old spoke with People about the hardships in the aftermath, declaring, "Sure, I put a smile on my face. I look the part, I play the part. But it doesn't mean I actually am the part. You fake it till you make it. That's the world that we live in. I've struggled."
Touching on how she became the legal guardian of her younger siblings, Chloe, 12, and Grayson, 18, once her parents went to prison, Savannah said, "I wasn't expecting to get two kids. So, between that, legal expenses to fight for my parents, I am just like anyone else out here."
"I've had to work multiple jobs. I sell houses. I do podcasting. I do social media influencing. I do anything that comes my way," she continued, discussing how she provides for herself and her siblings. "I'm no better than anyone else out here, to have to struggle. And I am not lazy. I know that I have two kids to provide for, and I know I have two parents that I need to get home."
Savannah then declared, "So, I'll work my a-- off till the wee hours of the morning if I have to. It's just who I am."
In the revealing new interview, she elaborated on the difficulties of parenting while juggling her parents' imprisonment, visiting them and trying to get them released.
"I believe that time for myself will come when I get my parents home," she said. "I'm only one person. So, it's been a little bit of a challenge. But right now, I find my strength and my energy in fighting for my parents."
