Saul Rubinek Boards James Wan & Simu Liu’s Untitled Peacock Espionage Thriller As Recurring

EXCLUSIVE: Saul Rubinek has joined the cast of James Wan and Simu Liu’s untitled Peacock espionage thriller series.

The actor will appear in all episodes as Victor Simonek, a retired special agent and confidante to Liu’s character.

The series is set five minutes in the future when first-generation American intelligence analyst Alexander Hale (Liu) realizes his brain has been hacked, giving the perpetrators access to everything he sees and hears. Caught between his shadowy agency and the unknown hackers, he must maintain a performance 24/7 to flush out who’s responsible and prove where his allegiance lies.

The cast also includes Melissa Barrera as Michelle; Sinclair Daniel as Parker; Brian d’Arcy James as John Moira; Mark O’Brien as Cobb; Sara Amini as Elle; and Kathleen Chalfant as St. George.

UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, is the studio. Jennifer Yale (See, Outlander) serves as co-showrunner and executive producer. In addition to acting, Liu also executive produces alongside Wan, Michael Clear (Archive 81, M3GAN) and Rob Hackett (Archive 81, I Know What You Did Last Summer) for Wan’s Atomic Monster, along with Mark Winemaker. Jet Wilkson also serves as executive producer and director of the first two episodes.

Rubinek has had an illustrious career that spans more than four decades and includes television roles such as Frasier, Warehouse 13 and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. He has also had turns in over 60 feature films like Unforgiven and True Romance.

He is repped by Artists & Representatives, Opus Entertainment and Meyer & Downs.
