SAS star Ollie Ollerton's secret wedding: 'Defied the odds'
He’s known for his take-no-prisoners attitude on SAS Australia but Matthew ‘Ollie’ Ollerton has revealed his romantic side by announcing he’s tied the knot with his fiancée in a secret ceremony over Christmas.
The former Special Forces soldier turned TV star shared the happy news on Instagram on Monday by posting a gorgeous snap of himself and his new wife Laura Gander, on their wedding day on December 27.
“MISSION POSSIBLE,” the 50-year-old captioned the pic, one of several to be featured exclusively in an upcoming issue of Hello! magazine.
The newlyweds decided to elope to Gretna Green, Scotland, after their original plans for lavish James Bond-themed nuptials back in July were dashed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We defied all the odds and it was an absolute mission to pull it off,” he told the magazine.
“It was the year when it looked like we wouldn't be able to marry, and then we did,” he added.
