Duchess of York's The Crown snub: 'Where is Fergie?'

Sarah Ferguson has claimed she was snubbed by producers of The Crown after she attempted to help them with her character.

The Duchess of York was briefly shown in season four of the Netflix show which was centred around Prince Charles and Princess Diana's relationship.

Fergie, who was married to Prince Andrew from 1986 to 1996, laughed about the reported snub in an interview with Town & Country magazine.

"Hello?" she joked. "Where is Fergie?"

She added that she even wrote to producers of The Crown and offered some input. "I said to him, 'Why can’t I help my character?'" she said.

Fergie was played by actress Jessica Aquilina on the show, and it's expected she will feature more heavily in season five, which is set for release next year.

Elsewhere in the chat, Fergie also spoke about not being invited to Prince William's wedding to Kate Middleton in 2011.

"I didn’t think I was probably worthy to go to their wedding. I took myself to Thailand, actually, to be far away from it so that I could try and heal," she said.

She added that she didn't resent the royal family for not inviting her.

The wedding was one year after Fergie was busted attempting to sell access to Prince Andrew for around $760,000.

The Duchess was secretly filmed telling a businessman, who was actually a News of the World reporter: "That opens up everything you would ever wish for. I can open any door you want, and I will for you. Look after me and he’ll look after you … you’ll get it back tenfold."

Once it was made public, Fergie issued a statement saying: "I very deeply regret the situation and the embarrassment caused. It is true that my financial situation is under stress however, that is no excuse for a serious lapse in judgment and I am very sorry that this has happened.

"I can confirm that The Duke of York was not aware or involved in any of the discussions that occurred. I am sincerely sorry for my actions."

By the time Prince Harry wed Meghan Markle in 2018, Fergie managed to score an invite to the ceremony, but not the after-party.

Fergie also spoke to the publication about her first romance novel Her Heart for a Compass and joked she might have to spice things up for the sequel.

"This is going to make Fifty Shades of Grey just a walk in the park," she said.
