Samantha Armytage announces newest family member: 'Hello gorgeous'

Samantha Armytage has announced the arrival of the newest member of her family in a series of Instagram pictures.

The 45-year-old, who lives in the Southern Highlands with her husband, Richard Lavender, showed off their horses, Doncella’s, new foal in an adorable shot.

“Meet the newest family member,” Sam captioned a picture, writing: “Hello gorgeous”.

She continued: “A gorgeous little filly born this morning to Doncella (& Capitalist).”

It appears Sam may have been there for the foal’s birth as the next photo shows her husband, Richard, kneeling down behind the curled up foal.

She wrote: “It’s really tiring being born,” alongside a laughing and love heart face emoji.

The newest addition to the couple’s animal brood comes as Sam has embraced the farm life since quitting her role on Sunrise back in March, after eight years with the breakfast TV show.

At the time, she explained that she wanted to "take a break and find some peace and calm" after a difficult six months.

Since then, Sam has waved lyrical about her transition to country living, calling her new lifestyle "bliss" in an interview with The Daily Telegraph.

“I barely brush my hair and put a bit of lipstick on these days, and it is lovely,” she said.

“It is absolutely bliss to not have to worry about hair and makeup for this part of my career.”

In a statement Channel Seven said Sam will “help the farmers and ladies on their road to finding real love”, where she will introduce each farmer to a new lady based on her own expertise and experience.

"I'm thrilled to be joining Farmer Wants A Wife in 2022. I've always been a huge fan of the show and of country people, and I know first-hand that falling in love with a farmer is just about the most wonderful thing you can do,” Sam said.

Sam took to her Instagram yesterday, after six of the farmers for the 2022 cast were announced, to write: "Meet our gorgeous farmers for 2022.. so excited for you to meet them."
