SAG Awards: ‘Bridgerton’ Returns With Polin Season, Helps Jonathan Bailey Nab Leading 3 Nominations
Netflix’s Bridgerton made a splash with its first season, earning two SAG Award nominations for its ensemble and the season’s co-lead Regé-Jean Page. Following no major awards recognition for Season 2, the Shondaland Regency drama is back, with its third season scoring two SAG Award nominations this morning, for its ensemble and the season’s co-lead, Nicola Coughlan.
What’s more, Jonathan Bailey, one of the Season 2 romantic leads, landed the most individual nominations this year: two for the blockbuster Wicked (individual and ensemble) and one as part of the Bridgeton ensemble.

Season 3 of Bridgerton followed the love story of Penelope Featherington (Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) aka Polin. It was a big season for Coughlan as her secret identity as Lady Whistledown was also revealed. The season aired in two parts in May in June, rendering it ineligible for the 2024 Emmy Awards, so there may be more nominations in store at the 2025 Emmys.
This marks Coughlan’s first major individual award recognition for Bridgerton. The actor, whose birthday is tomorrow, January 9, shared her reaction on Instagram.
“This is a very lovely early birthday present! I’m absolutely in shock and so honoured thank you @sagawards and so proud of the whole @bridgertonnetflix family 🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵,” she wrote.
Bridgerton, which is based on the novels by Julia Quinn, recently wrapped production on its fourth season.
