Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney recreate famous Wham! covers in fan edited photos

More like WrexWham!

Christmas came a few days early for Wrexham AFC fans — courtesy of Ryan Reynolds, Rob McElhenney, and once very creative digital artist.

On Monday, the pair who share ownership of the Welsh soccer team decided to honor the club and ring in the holiday season by sharing a fanedit that sees them recreating the classic “Last Christmas” single cover from British pop duo, Wham. Yes, really.

The image, credited to an X user DarthPunk69, sees Reynolds and McElhenney in the place of musicians George Micheal and Andrew Ridgeley in the famed cover art. The pop stars’ names are replaced with their own, and it features the logo of their beloved soccer club in the corner. A second picture sees them donning leather jackets for their own version of the 1983 Wham album art, Fantastic.

McElhenney shared the photos on Instagram with the simple caption “WREXHAM,” accompanied by a Christmas tree emoji and credit to the artist. Reynolds also highlighted the photos in his own Instagram stories.

Whether they know it or not, these images are just two of many. The social media user has posted several edits where the Wrexham owners take the place of Wham.

The fact that the duo stumbled across this fan creation should come as no surprise, given Reynolds has become so attuned to the strange creations made imaginative artists. Earlier this month the Deadpool actor shared an edit spoofing a snapshot that his wife, Blake Lively, took with their mutual friend, Taylor Swift. The pic from digital creator karthiknjartist sees Reynolds and Travis Kelce's face superimposed on Lively and Swift.

"I feel like I should remember this," Reynolds joked atop the photo.
