All About Ryan Gosling's 4 Stunt Doubles in “The Fall Guy”: 'Heroes on Screen'

Meet the men behind the incredible stunts in 'The Fall Guy,' including Justin Eaton, Troy Brown, Logan Holladay and Ben Jenkin

Though Ryan Gosling is the star of The Fall Guy, his incredible stunt doubles are getting their time in the spotlight as well.

Described as a “love letter to stuntmen,” the film follows a Hollywood stunt performer named Colt Seavers (Gosling), who after leaving the business springs back into action with a new movie directed by his ex-girlfriend (Emily Blunt). Along the way, various hijinks ensue as Colt finds himself in more action than he’s ever seen in the movies.

Naturally, there are numerous stunts throughout, which were performed by Gosling’s four stunt doubles, Justin Eaton, Troy Brown, Logan Holladay and Ben Jenkin, with the latter two recently attending the film’s premiere alongside Gosling in matching suits.

Speaking with PEOPLE exclusively, Gosling expressed how joyous it was to create a film that celebrates the movie industry and stunt performers. “To get to team up with [director] David [Leitch] and find a way to flip the narrative and put stunt performers in the spotlight was really exciting,” he explained, calling his stunt doubles the “heroes on screen.”

Logan Holladay broke a Guinness World Record with his stunts in the film

Holladay, whose father was also a stuntman and inspired him to get into the business, served as Gosling’s driving double and pulled off all the incredible car scenes you see in the film. In fact, he set a Guinness World Record for most cannon rolls in a car while filming the movie.

Holladay, who began his career as a professional motorcycle racer before transitioning to stunts, achieved “an astonishing eight and a half rolls” in a car, per a press release from Universal Pictures.

It's no surprise the industry vet was able to achieve that record, as he's been serving as a stunt performer in blockbusters for years, including Shazam! Fury of the Gods and Bad Boys for Life as well as shows such as Westworld, per his IMDb.

Ben Jenkin is a parkour artist

Jenkin is the man behind some of the most daring stunts in the film, from fire burns to getting hit by a car. Born in Germany, but raised in Blackburn, England in a military family, Jenkin was heavily involved in sports as a young kid. His love of being active eventually led to his discovery of parkour freerunning, which he says offered a “whole new level of physicality,” per Universal Pictures.

Speaking with PEOPLE, Jenkin says he considers himself among the second generation of parkour artists, noting that after David Belles, Sébastien Foucan and more developed Yamakasi in the 1990s, it became very popular in England where he grew up. “I would say I was part of the second generation that really kind of elevated it to a new level, and then now the kids these days are just insane,” he explained.

“It's cool to see,” he said of the new generation of parkour artists, adding that “the originators” like Belle and Foucan “were the ones who inspired [him]” at the young age of 14.

In addition to doubling for Gosling, Jenkin can be seen as a stunt double for other big-name stars that include Will Poulter in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Willem Dafoe in Spider-Man: No Way Home, per his IMDb page.

Justin Eaton is a martial artist

Eaton, who served as one of Gosling’s stunt doubles in the film, is the man behind many of Gosling’s fight scenes. Eaton got his start in gymnastics and martial arts before his competitions in the martial arts circuit brought him to Los Angeles. From there, he decided to pursue a career as a stuntman full-time.

Like Jenkin, Eaton has performed stunts for a variety of superhero projects, including Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Black Adam and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, per his IMDb page.

Troy Brown followed in his father’s footsteps with stunt work

Brown was quite literally the “fall guy” in the film as he was Gosling’s double for a dramatic 150-foot-high fall at the end of the film. Stunt work runs in his family: His father Bob Brown is a prominent stunt coordinator in Hollywood, with his work including Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood, San Andreas, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and more, per his IMDb bio.

“Growing up, I was always watching the guys who came before me, like my dad, Dar Robinson, Hal Needham, J.J. Dashnaw, who all went huge on high falls,” Brown told Universal Pictures. “It was always a part of my life. And when I would watch videos of my dad, I always knew that I wanted to go big. So being able to fulfill that dream is just insane and I can’t sum it up into a word, but it means a lot to me.”

Brown’s past work includes everything from TV to film, including Yellowstone, Alice in Wonderland and Sky High.
