It’s been a big week for Bindi Irwin, who celebrated her 21st birthday on Wednesday, before sharing the exciting news she and long-time beau Chandler Powell also got engaged.

“July 24th 2019. On my birthday I said ‘yes’ and ‘forever’ to the love of my life,” Bindi shared in a post on Instagram, alongside photos showing off her new bling.

Bindi’s childhood sweetheart, 22-year-old Chandler, also took to his Instagram page to gush over his future wife, writing: “She said YES”.

She’s been inundated with well wishes and congratulations for both milestones, with one of the family’s oldest and closest friends taking things to the next level in the gifting department.

Her mum Terri reportedly said Russell Crowe gave Bindi a $25,000 Rolex watch, which the Hollywood actor believed her dad 'would have wanted' her to have, according to the Daily Mail.

Russell Crowe wasn’t the only one to send congratulations to Bindi, with a flood of celebrity friends also sharing sweet messages online.

“Congratulations on your life time love and continued adventures together! Happiest birthday blessings to you, angel,” Jessica Veronica commented, with sister Lisa adding “undeniable soul mates, so so happy for you both”.

“Oh my goodness I’m so happy for you,” Ruby Rose wrote.

“Aww congratulations and happy birthday bindi,” was another note from Millie Bobbie Brown.

Just hours before the happy announcement, Bindi was already getting inundated with well wishes for her birthday.

“You have shown more love, strength, compassion and generosity than people twice your age and this world is far better for having you in it,” Rove McManus said in a gushing birthday message.

Terri Irwin believes Bindi’s late dad, Steve Irwin, would have been over the moon about his daughter’s big news.

“Best day ever! Chandler asked and beautiful BindiI Irwin said yes. I am so very happy, and I know Steve would be too. Congratulations!!,” she wrote on Twitter.

The Australia Zoo star’s baby brother, Robert Irwin, also congratulated his big sister, saying he’s ‘beyond happy’ for the both of them.

“You are true soulmates and have always been so completely perfect for each other. Love you both and congratulations,” he wrote.
