The royal tradition of Princess Diana's that Meghan Markle is set to snub

Since she officially joined the royal family in May, Meghan Markle has definitely shaken things up in the establishment.

Her bold fashion choices and decision to ditch protocol on more than one occasion, has certainly made a splash, and now the Duchess of Sussex is reportedly set to break the rules again when it comes to the birth of her first child with husband Prince Harry.

Meghan’s change of tradition

While Princess Diana, Princess Anne and the Duchess of Cambridge all opted to have their children at St. Mary’s hospital in London, Meghan is said to be looking into other “options”, according to Vanity Fair.

Given that the Sussexes will be living at Frogmore Cottage in the grounds of Windsor Castle by the time Meghan gives birth, sources have alluded that the couple may be looking into another hospital which is more local.

The 37-year-old may even opt for a home birth, which was previously a tradition in the royal family.

The Queen gave birth to all four of her children at home.

Prince Charles, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward were all born at Buckingham Palace, while Her Majesty welcomed Princess Anne at Clarence House.
