Australian actress Rose Byrne has revealed she suffered a serious injury on set while filming her latest movie, Juliet, Naked.
During an appearance on BUILD this week, the 39-year-old revealed she cut her finger, and it was far from a pretty sight.
“Halfway through the movie I put my finger in a blender,” she said. “And that was awesome,” she added, with her signature sense of humour.
“And so I had a huge bandage because my finger came off and then I had to put it back on.”
That couldn’t have been fun.
Rose plays the central character Annie in the new film based on the novel by Nick Hornby.
The movie explores the love story that developed between Annie and musician Tucker Crowe, played by Ethan Hawke, after she writes a scathing online review about him.
The twist is Tucker also happens to be a musical idol of her long-time boyfriend, played by Chris O’Dowd.
In a recent interview with Parade, Rose opened up about what drew her to her character.
“She’s quite passive but she does a series of rebellious acts and protests,” she told the publication.
“And she becomes this flirty person who starts an online romance with this guy of all people.”
As for why fans should watch the film, the mother of two said the flick would be a refreshing change.
“If you want a little relief from a blockbuster or from something more aggressive, this is very gentle and funny and charming.”
