Robert Irwin leaves fans in tears with Terri and Steve engagement photo
Fans couldn't contain their emotions over the photo.
Robert Irwin has left fans in tears after sharing a rare snap of his parents Terri and Steve Irwin on the 31st anniversary of their engagement. Taking to Instagram, Robert shared the snap, which saw the young couple posing together with Terri holding a lizard.
"It was on this day 31 years ago that my parents got engaged and set in motion what would become a legacy larger than life," Robert wrote. "I love my mum and dad so much… I’m proud to be their son."
Fans loved the snap, with one user writing, "Teary eyed here. Such an amazing love story. You sure have so much from your Dad. He will always be with you, forever. I love your family."

"Your dad would be beyond proud of the hard work you do to keep his legacy alive," a third added.

"Your dad changed the world. An absolute icon and the reason so many people are aware of environmental issues," one fan added, while another agreed, "Your dad was the reason I love animals and have adopted them throughout my life and the respect I have for nature. Truly a one of a kind human."

It's been 16 years since Steve's shock passing in September 2006 when he was fatally injured by a stingray barb in the Great Barrier Reef.
Steve proposed to Terri after eight months of dating, with the pair getting married in 1992. They were married for 14 years before his tragic death.
