Presumed Innocent Review: Jake Gyllenhaal Keeps Us Guessing in Apple TV+'s Riveting Legal Thriller
Gyllenhaal will reprise his role as Elwood Dalton, a former UFC fighter who in the first movie was recruited to be the head bouncer at a Florida Keys watering hole that was being terrorized by a real estate developer’s minions — including a super-swole enforcer named Knox (former UFC champ Conor McGregor).
Asked to tease the next Road House, “All I know is that I’m very excited about it,” Gyllenhaal shared with TVLine on Wednesday, while out promoting his lead role in Apple TV+’s Presumed Innocent series adaptation (premiering June 12).
Specifically, Gyllenhaal looks forward to “really world building” within this new Road House universe. “We’ve had a number of different ideas that we wanted to explore,” he said, “and the fact that we’re going to be able to do that is really exciting.”

In announcing the sequel last month, Amazon reported that its first trip to the Road House attracted “nearly 80 million worldwide viewers to-date,” after drawing a record-breaking 50 million-plus worldwide viewers over its first two weekends to become Amazon MGM Studios’ most-watched produced film debut ever on a worldwide basis.
