Rita Ora—icon, legend, and person who once cosplayed as Shrek in a literal swamp—has done it again. And by "it," I mean she showed up to the 2024 Fashion Awards in London wearing a blonde mullet:
And while this vibe got a lot of attention for obvious reasons, we're actually here to discuss the look Rita wore to the Fashion Awards after-party. Mostly because she covered herself with temporary flower tattoos—and used them instead of nipple pasties.
Rita spoke about her first look of the evening on Instagram Stories, saying "Lemme talk to you about the inspiration, I wanted timeless with an edge. The mismatching hair just feels so classic and iconic. We decided to put this oversized suit that has loads of different colors, architectural jewelry, and a twist on the timeless suit."
I mean, mission accomplished!
The singer also spoke to Fashion Week Daily about her approach to personal style back in 2021, saying her inspirations include Cher, Madonna, Diana Ross, and Gwen Stefani, all of whom have "been huge inspirations" in her life. "They’re such powerful women who all have a unique point of view when it comes to fashion," she explained. "Kate Moss is another style icon of mine; she is the epitome of British fashion."
Rita also noted that "Madonna’s whole existence" influenced her style, saying "She is such a badass. When I was younger, I was into making my own outfits and I would go digging in flea markets to find the perfect pieces. That’s probably my earliest fashion memory."
