The risque scene Denise Richards won't let her kids watch
Itâs one of the most memorable films from her early Hollywood career, but Denise Richards doesnât want her children to see her lesbian love scenes in 1998 erotic thriller, Wild Things.
The now 48-year-old star of The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star says her young daughters, all under the age of 16, have come across the footage, but sheâs forbidden them from viewing it as itâs ânot age appropriateâ.
âI definitely did not give them a copy,â she tells Yahoo Lifestyle Australia. âI told them, âI donât want you guys watching thisâ, because one of my daughters brought it up to me and I was shocked.
âA couple of friends had told her about it and I just said to her, âI would appreciate if you didnât watch itâ. Itâs not age appropriate and it was a movie I did, it was a script I loved, itâs me being creative. I worked with amazing actors and one day if you do see it, you may not agree with my decision but thatâs what mum decided to doâ.â
The said scene shows a then twenty-something Denise passionately locking lips with female co-star Neve Campbell as they undressed each other in a swimming pool.
âMy girls are starting to get older,â reveals Denise. âThey have friends saying, âI saw this picture of your mum.â
âItâs weird for them, to see their mum in something thatâs sexy or different. I think it would be very rude for me if it were my parents,â she admits.
Thereâs also a balance Charlie Sheenâs ex needs to strike when filming The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills, as her daughters also appear in some episodes that show a real insight into the movie starâs family and home life.
âAt the time [of filming], I said to them, âNo pressureâ,â explains Denise.
âIf they want to be part of it, they can. If they donât, they donât have to. I would never want them to do anything they donât want to do.
âTheyâre on the show a little bit and there are moments their friends are there too, but their friendsâ parents watch it and their friends do. I was surprised that their friends see it because theyâre younger and itâs kind of an adult show,â she says.
âThen I look back at the stuff Iâve filmed and Iâm not the most appropriate at times where Iâd want my kids to see or hear things so I have some challenging times coming up, trying to explain some things about that.â
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 9 streams on both hayu and Foxtel, same day as the U.S. New episodes every Wednesday.
