Rihanna, Eva Longoria and More Stars Bringing ‘Butter’ Yellow Fashion to the Red Carpet in 2024

Nothing says springtime like pastels, and this season’s trendiest shade is good enough to eat. Introducing “butter” yellow: a pale lemon hue that could pass for a neutral.

Labels like Sandy Liang, Bottega Veneta and Schiaparelli sent butter yellow down the runway in recent months, setting the sunshine-y trend for spring and summer.

Aubrey Plaza’s Loewe gown at the Emmys went viral for its resemblance to Post-it notes and naturally, a pat of butter. The actress’ satin shift, which debuted on the runway last fall, featured a statement pin and a column silhouette. Plaza accessorized with gold Alexandre Birman platforms and Effy jewelry.

Rihanna

Rihanna celebrated the release of her makeup brand’s new foundation in a strapless Alexander McQueen midi dress evoking an animal hide. She paired her pale yellow frock with high-heeled gladiator sandals and layered bracelets.

At the King’s Trust Global Gala, Ratajkowski took the plunge in a silk Dolce & Gabbana halter gown from the fashion house’s fall 2002 archives.

At Gucci’s latest fashion show, Kate Moss’ daughter, Lila, sat front row in a buttoned-up blazer and matching micro shorts by the Italian label. The up and coming model added on towering loafers in Gucci’s trademark “Ancora”‘ red hue.

Eva Longoria stepped out during the 2024 Cannes Film Festival in a Rachel Gilbert midi dress adorned with sequin paillettes and rhinestones. The actress accessorized with tiny hoops and silver stiletto sandals.

At the closing ceremony of the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, Joey King wore a buttery Miu Miu column gown featuring corsetry and a bow-embellished back cutout, as well as mesh elbow-length gloves adorned with rhinestones. The actress added on Gabriel & Co. diamond earrings, completing her look with black platform heels.
