Some things never go out of style — like Richard E. Grant's iconic purple suit from Spice World.

The actor, who starred as Clifford in the 1997 film, kept the stylish piece tucked away for the past 28 years just in case he wanted to wear it again, and the opportunity finally presented itself this month.

Grant posted a few photos on Instagram in early January with his daughter, Olivia, sharing that for her 36th birthday, she'd made a few special requests, one of which called for her dad to wear this particular outfit.

"Our beloved daughter @oliviagranted chose a Prom theme for her 36th birthday last night & insisted I wear my Clifford purple suit from SPICEWORLD THE MOVIE which has been zipped up in the loft for 28 years! I was offered the role when she was 8, and her excitement about meeting the Spice Girls is something I will never forget!"

In the photos, Grant poses with his daughter, who is dressed as the prom queen in a black dress with a crystal-covered bodice. She wears a "prom queen" sash and a dazzling jeweled necklace. Her actor dad stands beside her in one photo, decked out in his purple button-down, pants and tie. In the second photo, the two of them make silly faces for the camera.

In the 1997 movie, Grant played Clifford, the Spice Girls' manager. The purple suit was just one of the stylish looks he wore as he barked orders and guided the singers to stardom. (Dare we say his facial hair was also part of his character's very memorable look?)

But Grant's wardrobe wasn't all that stood the test of time from Spice World. Every last thing that Victoria Adams (now Beckham), Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell — better known as the Spice Girls — wore in the movie and throughout their time as a girl group has remained important, especially to their fans.

Whether it's babydoll dresses or platform boots, the Spice Girls cemented their fashion influence in the '90s (and even their kids have recreated their best looks). You just never realized that Grant was also a fashion icon right along with them!
