Reports Meghan Markle has 'no intention' of ever returning to the UK

A royal biographer has claimed Meghan Markle may never return to the UK because she "simply doesn't care" what the British public think of her.

The Duchess of Sussex currently lives in Montecito, California with Prince Harry and their two children after stepping back as senior royals in 2020.

Royal commentator Tom Bower believes Meghan has 'no intention' of returning to London, because she believes Britain is a "lost cause".

Bower is currently working on a biography about Meghan and told The Sun: "Meghan's ultimate destination is unclear, but she certainly has the backing to make a bid to star as an American politician.

"In parallel, Britain is a lost cause for the Sussexes. In truth, I suspect Meghan no longer cares whether she is welcome in London. She has no intention of returning."

He added that while Meghan's popularity fell in the UK after marrying Harry, her recent visit to New York last year was a "remarkable success" and she has support among "Democrats, minorities and the young".

Prince Harry is believed to have "reached out to his father" and has been having "friendly video calls" before the Queen's Jubilee and will likely return for the celebrations during the UK summer.

According to the Daily Mail, Harry's silence seemingly paints a very different picture of his relationship with his stepmother.

In an interview to mark his 21st birthday in September 2005, Harry said he and William "love her to bits".

He said: "She's a wonderful woman and she's made our father very, very happy, which is the most important thing."

"Look at the position she's come into. Don't always feel sorry for me and William, feel sorry for her. We are grateful for her . . . we're very happy to have her around."

He continued: "To be honest, she's always been very close to me and William. But no, she's not the wicked stepmother, I'll say that right now."
