Renée Zellweger Gives Power Dressing a Modern Twist With Blazer-inspired Top and Contrasting Belt Detail for ‘Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy’ Rome Photo Call
Renée Zellweger opted for her own take on power dressing for her “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy” photo call on Wednesday in Rome. The Oscar-winning actress is on a global promotional tour for the forthcoming film, based on the book series by Helen Fielding.
For the occasion, Zellweger opted for a suit-inspired look with unique elements. The actress wore a pair of wide-leg black trousers with a coordinated jacket-inspired top. The strapless black top featured an elongated silhouette with side pockets and buttons running down the front placket.

Zellweger’s look also featured pinstripe detailing with sleeves featuring an asymmetric neckline. At the waist, the outfit featured an additional belted element in cinnamon. She completed the look with black pointed-toe heels.
As for her glam, Zellweger’s hair was pulled back into a low ponytail with a few strands to frame her face. Her makeup featured a clean, serene look with bold brows, a lightly lined eye and a subtle pink lip courtesy of artist Kindra Mann. Zellweger is working with stylist Petra Flannery on her “Bridget Jones” promotional tour looks.
“Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy” marks Zellweger’s first major return to the silver screen since her Oscar-winning turn in the Judy Garland biopic “Judy.” The actress’ press tour outfits have, thus far, wholly leaned into feminine silhouettes and colorways.
For the film’s London premiere on Jan. 29, the actress went into the archives, styling a vintage hot pink strapless gown from Pierre Balmain’s Fall 2000 haute couture collection, which featured a dramatic train. The actress paired the dress with burgundy heels and a statement cocktail ring. Zellweger has also styled looks by Saint Laurent, Hermès and more.
“Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy” follows the titular character (Zellweger) as she navigates life as a widow and single mother. Once she creates a profile on a dating app, Bridget finds herself the subject of competing affections from a younger man and her son’s science teacher. The film co-stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Leo Woodall and Hugh Grant. “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy” hits theaters Feb. 14.
