Ree Drummond Considers Turning Her Walk-In Closet Into a Nursery for Baby Granddaughter on the Way

The Food Network star is preparing to be a grandma after her daughter Alex announced her pregnancy in June

Ree Drummond is looking out for her granddaughter on the way.

On Monday, July 8, the Food Network star and soon-to-be grandma, 55, shared an Instagram Reel of how she spent her Fourth of July weekend: cleaning her luxurious walk-in closet. The video shows off what the large closet looked like before and after her long weekend spent cleaning.

One follower asked in the comments, “Did you take up a bedroom to do this? With my kids out of the house I’m pondering to do that!”

“We built it new with the house,” Drummond replied, “but now that Alex [Drummond] is expecting, I’m wondering if it needed to be a bedroom instead for my granddaughter to come stay with me.”

In her caption, Drummond shared how her closet got so messy in the first place. “All I can tell you is: two week trip to L.A. in April, lots of busy catch-up work + college kids home in May, a short-lived trip to Colorado + filming my show in June, then trying to figure out what to wear on the Fourth was the final nail in the coffin,” she wrote.

“Thank goodness it was a long weekend and I could get things back to normal—-though, one could argue, maybe the ‘before’ is normal? 🤔 (Sorry about the bra, Mom!!! 😂),” the mom of five joked.

Alex Drummond, 27, announced last month on Instagram that she is expecting her first baby with her husband, Mauricio Scott. "We can’t wait to meet you, little one. 🤍 Baby Scott joining the party this winter!" Alex and Mauricio wrote in the caption of their joint post on June 23.

"Thank you Lord for this precious gift 😇," they added, alongside photos of the couple posing with their dog wearing a bandana that read "Big Brother," holding up sonogram pictures and grinning at each other.

This will be the first grandchild for the Pioneer Woman star, who is mom to Alex, Paige, 24, Bryce, 21, Todd, 20, and Jamar, 21.
