A famous bride has divided opinion online after sharing snaps of her see-through wedding dress that could almost be mistaken for underwear. Pernille August Rosenkilde, A Danish influencer with over 178,000 followers on Instagram, designed and created her own wedding outfit.

It consisted of a white feathered bodice attached to a sheer silk organza skirt, which left very little to the imagination. She wore what looked like high-waisted white underwear underneath, and accessorised with a white veil and small bunch of flowers.

One of her wedding photos was shared on a popular wedding-shaming Facebook group, with the outraged contributor writing: “Not blurred because she’s a Danish influencer. This woman wore this to a church wedding. Like. She turned up in underwear to a house of prayer.”

Most people replied and said they didn’t see what the location of the wedding had to do with her outfit, but they didn’t like what she was wearing at all.

“It’s not even cute. Just utterly tacky. If she wanted attention, she got it. A fuzzy onesie or wedding attire. Wow,” one person said.

“When I lived in Denmark, it wasn’t really a prudish or overly religious society. A lot of the old churches had been converted to bars and restaurants lol. So I don’t really care about that, but the outfit is pretty uggo. Not a feathers fan,” another added.

“I don’t care if it was a house of pancakes. It’s an ugly, awkward outfit with granny panties and a Muppet top,” a third remarked.

“Granny panties. Lol that is the most unflattering wedding dress I’ve ever seen,” another said.

However, there were some who saw the vision and provided a different perspective.

“Is it bad I think this is cute for a non-wedding? Like I would hella wear this to something… like maybe a concert,” a person commented.

“She looks f**king fire,” another pointed out.

“If she felt beautiful, not gonna yuck her yum,” a third chimed in.

“They look happy and lovely to me,” another wrote.

In an interview with British Vogue, Pernille said she was overjoyed with the way her dress turned out. She spent around 50 hours dyeing each feather quill with tea by hand for the bodice, before sewing them on. It was her version of the “naked dress”, which she wanted to be more “elegant and classy”.

“It was worth it,” she told the publication. “The dress turned out to be everything I dreamed of, and Jeppe [her husband] thought it was the most beautiful thing he’d ever seen.”

“I love wearing feathers and see-through fabrics, but I also wanted the dress to be elegant, classy and a bit sexy,” she added. “I wanted the dress to be the main focus, so I kept the accessories subtle. The sheer skirt of the dress shouldn’t compete with crazy shoes, so the silver mesh Bottega Veneta heels were perfect.”

The dress code for their guests was “main character energy”, and the couple loved how this was interpreted.

In the end, both Pernille and Jeppe loved every moment of their wedding and will be treasuring these photographs for many years to come, while the criticism from those on the internet will soon be forgotten.
