Have you received this letter from Prince Charles?

He’s first in line to take the British throne and a few lucky Australians have received a letter straight from Prince Charles himself.

Farmers, who have gone through months of drought got a surprise in their letterbox ,when the future king sent them a note to wish them well.

One woman, who goes by the name ‘susiecountryqueen’ on Instagram, took to her social media account to share a picture of the prestigious piece of paper.

“Feeling very chuffed after receiving this letter from Prince Charles in regard to the demise of the Merino industry due to drought,” she wrote.

“One of hundreds but still feeling a bit spesh. Off to the framers and into the pool room. Thanks Bonny Prince Charles you’ve made my year.”

The letter starts with the Prince of Wales saying he’s been ‘greatly saddened’ to hear of ‘the worst drought on record in the wool growing serious of New South Wales and in parts of Victoria, Queensland and South Australia’.

“As a sheep farmer myself, I cannot begin to imagine the anguish that those of you who have been affected by this climatic tragedy must be facing and, as you continue to cope with such challenging conditions, particularly feeding livestock in the more remote areas, I wanted you to know that you are very much in my thoughts at this very difficult time,” he wrote.

“While I was relieved to learn that some limited rainfall has recently returned to areas of the country, I sincerely hope this welcome development continues before the Summer hears return.

“I am praying for the heavens to open and send you all my kindest and most sympathetic wishes.”

It comes after the Queen issued a touching statement in support of Australian farmers in August.

“Prince Philip and I have been deeply saddened to hear of one of the worst Australian droughts in living memory,” the 92-year-old Monarch wrote.

“I know Australia as a land where extremes of weather, floods and droughts are taken in their stride, and life goes on with a stoic and determined spirit.

“It is clear, however, that the current drought is taking an immense toll, especially on those living and working in rural communities, who are, in so many ways, the very heart and soul of Australia.

“My thoughts and prayers are with the many individuals, families, communities and businesses who have been affected, and I send my sincere thanks to all those who stand shoulder-to-shoulder in their support.”
