Revealed: What really happened during explosive MAFS girls' night out
From Elizabeth returning to MAFS to the group suspecting Ines fancies Sam, tonight’s Married At First Sight featured a lot of things we’d been eagerly waiting for.
The conflict between Elizabeth and Ines came to an extreme blow during the girls’ night out on the Gold Coast over a disagreement about mental health and various relationships on the show.
Cyrell has now spilled exactly what went down on the night, revealing the cliques amongst the female cast members made the friction worse.
“The other girls like to beat around the bush, whereas I’m just direct,” Cyrell tells TV Week.
“Ines, Jess and Martha had their own little group. If you have a combination of women like that together, what does that tell you?
“The divide was basically between the b*tches and the good people.”
In tonight’s episode, Cyrell and Elizabeth had a big tiff with Ines, which all stemmed from the whispers that Ines was hooking up with Sam.
“First of all, there’s this rumour that I heard about Liz and Liz happens to be my mate,” Cyrell explained to a frustrated Ines.
“So I turned around and I told her, so before you start yelling, I said, ‘I don’t know if it’s true, but talk to her because I had heard they were hooking up in the sauna’.”
“And I’m not the only one because clearly Jules even just asked you, ‘Do you like Sam?’,” she added.
There was also talk of Martha having a photo of Sam and Ines in the sauna, but Martha insisted this was untrue and a case of “Chinese whispers”.
While Ines told the girls, ‘I don’t like Sam’, the male contestants were out on their own boys’ night.
From Sam describing fingers being put in his mouth, to the other men encouraging Dino to sleep with Melissa, there was plenty of discussion of the nitty gritty of their sex lives.
“Boys clubs operate on an unspoken rule that any male in the club has to be sexually dominant in their relationship with partners and other females,” says Clinical Psychotherapist Claire McHalick, who explains this also applies to Mick telling Mark and Mike about his sex life with Jess earlier in the week.
“That means Mick was under pressure from his own enculturated thinking to tell the other boys in the club he had got sex from his partner,” Claire tells Yahoo Lifestyle.
“To withhold that information would break the alliance the men have with each other and put the perceived power in the hands of his wife.”
Married At First Sight continues at 7:30pm on Channel Nine.
