Reality TV Legend Sent Home After Less Than 24 Hours in 'The Traitors' Premiere

After a strong inaugural season in 2023, The Traitors really became THE must-watch TV sensation of 2024, not only becoming one of Peacock's most successful shows but also nabbing multiple Emmys. Now Alan Cumming has invited 23 new reality TV legends to his Scottish castle for midnight murders, devastating banishments and the chance to take home $250,000.

On Jan. 9, 2024, Peacock released the first three episodes of the season (episodes will be released one at a time every Friday from here on), and A LOT has already happened. Episode 1 saw the Traitors selected, and by the end of Episode 3, four of their competitors had already been eliminated. Along the way, two new cast members joined the cast, plenty of Shields were handed out and the cast biffed one clown-themed challenge so badly that they earned zero money for the prize fund.

When Peacock announced the cast of The Traitors Season 3, 21 celebs were on the docket to compete in the Scottish castle. However, at the end of Episode 1, Alan Cumming announced the arrival of two hooded figures who would also be joining the game (along with Boston Rob Mariano, who through a twist was exiled at the start of the game only to return a day later). The Traitors loves a twist and this season's first major revelation was the addition of The Challenge legend Wes Bergmann and Big Brother winner Derrick Levasseur to the cast.

When they arrived in Episode 2, both Wes and Derrick were made Faithfuls and they, along with Boston Rob, were given immunity so as to not be banished or murdered on their first day. In addition, they were each granted a Shield that the could give to a fellow competitor. That brought the cast total up to 23, although by the end of Episode 3, that had been culled to 19.

Who was murdered on The Traitors Season 3 Episodes 1-3?

For the second season in a row, the Traitors opted to take out a big name right off the bat. Less than 24 hours after arriving at Alan Cumming's castle, Traitors Danielle Reyes, Carolyn Wiger and Bob the Drag Queen selected The Real Housewives of New York City alum Dorinda Medley as their first victim. After Dorinda got into a heated argument with Lord Ivar Mountbatten, the Traitors decided to nix the Lady of Blue Stone Manor in order to pin blame on the British royal as well as the other Housewives. Ahead of the premiere, Dorinda was one of the most buzzy names on the cast so her early elimination will be mourned by fans.

Opting to follow a Housewives-themed boot order to try and pin blame one of the remaining Housewives (a tactic that didn't really pay off), the Traitors chose to murder The Real Housewives of Dubai star Chanel Ayan in Episode 3. While Ayan clearly had no idea what was going on in the game, she was prepared to be the most fashionable cast member, and the world is bummed that we won't be able to see more outlandish outfits on the highlands.

Who was banished on The Traitors Season 3 Episodes 1-3?

At Season 3's first Round Table, no one seemed to know what the hell was happening. With very little to go off of, these first banishments tend to be chaotic (remember the Peppermint boot last year?), but the Season 3 cast seemed to be especially aimless. Bob the Drag Queen threw out The Bachelor star's name, and was able to cobble together enough cohesion from the clueless Faithfuls to send him packing. Outside of Wells, seven other cast members got votes, with not a single person voting for an actual Traitor.

The vote count:

  • Wells (5) - Carolyn, Jeremy, Robyn, Sam, Tony

  • Ivar (4) - Bob H, Bob the Drag Queen, Ciara, Dolores

  • Robyn (4) - Danielle, Dylan, Gabby, Wells

  • Jeremy (2) - Britney, Tom

  • Ayan (1) - Nikki

  • Dolores (1) - Ivar

  • Tom (1) - Chrishell

  • Tony (1) - Ayan

By Episode 3, things had coalesced a bit more, with most of the cast agreeing that two-time Survivor winner Tony Vlachos needed to be banished. Tony is known for his erratic gameplay, which on The Traitors just reads as shiftiness. It's easy to see why he seemed like a Traitor and with both Bob the Drag Queen and Danielle as potential boots, Boston Rob decided to throw his fellow Survivor alum under the bus to save his fellow Traitors. Tony became the fourth Faithful in a row to be sent home.

The vote count:

  • Tony (14) - Bob H., Britney, Carolyn, Ciara, Chrishell, Danielle, Derrick, Dolores, Gabby, Nikki, Rob, Robyn, Sam, Tom

  • Ivar (2) - Bob the Drag Queen, Wes

  • Bob H. (1) - Tony

  • Bob the Drag Queen (1) - Dylan

  • Robyn (1) - Ivar

  • Tom (1) - Jeremy

Who won Shields during Episodes 1-3?

Just like in Season 2, each mission is now accompanied by the opportunity to earn Shields, which protect the player holding it from being murdered by the Traitors. In the first three episodes, Shields were distributed to a number of players. Here's who won them:

Episode 1

In the premiere's mission, only eight players opted to remain on the rafts, and thus forfeit their ability to earn a Shield. As a result, 12 players were protected from the Traitors' first murder. They were:

  1. Wells Adams

  2. Jeremy Collins

  3. Dylan Efron

  4. Nikki Garcia

  5. Britney Haynes

  6. Ciara Miller

  7. Lord Ivar Mountbatten

  8. Tom Sandoval

  9. Chrishell Stause

  10. Tony Vlachos

  11. Carolyn Wiger

  12. Gabby Windey

Episode 2

In Episode 2, only three shields were up for grabs. All three of the new additions to the game were given a Shield that they could bestow upon a fellow player. Here's who received those Shields:

  • Jeremy Collins (gifted by Wes Bergmann)

  • Dylan Efron (gifted by Derrick Levasseur)

  • Tony Vlachos (gifted by Boston Rob Mariano)

Episode 3

In Episode 3's rather difficult funhouse-themed challenge, due to some poor planning from the cast, no one earned a Shield. That means that all 15 remaining Faithfuls are up for murder going into Episode 4.

Which players remain in The Traitors Season 3?

With four players eliminated and two added, there remain 19 contestants in the hunt for the $250,000, with four as Traitors and 15 as Faithfuls. The remaining players are:

Sam Asghari (Faithful)
Wes Bergmann (Faithful)
Bob the Drag Queen (Traitor)
