Real reason Meghan Markle turned down Golden Globes invitation with Suits co-stars
"We asked the Duchess."
While four of Meghan Markle's former Suits co-stars reunited at the Golden Globes on Sunday, the Duchess of Sussex was sadly nowhere to be found.
Patrick J Adams, Gabriel Macht, Sarah Rafferty and Gina Torres presented an award at the show due to the recent resurgence in Suits' popularity four years after the show ended.
Surprisingly, it seems as though the Suits stars weren't even able to get hold of Meghan to see if she would be attending the event with them.
Speaking to Variety on the red carpet, Gina was asked who texted Meghan to ask if she'd attend, with the Suits star responding, "We don’t have her number. We just don't."

"That's a good one!" reporter Marc Malkin responded.
"She’ll see. She’ll watch. She’ll be happy that we’re here," Gina added.
Patrick and Gabriel poked fun at Meghan's new life during an interview on the red carpet, with Gabriel asking Patrick, "Who's Meghan?"
"She's pretty popular right now," Patrick responded. "Did you hear about Meghan? I'll tell you later."
Now, it seems as though the real reason Meghan didn't attend has been revealed, with Page Six getting comment from a Golden Globes insider.
"We asked the Duchess, but we were told that, unfortunately, she had a previous commitment," the source revealed.
Meghan played Rachel Zane on the show, who would go on to marry Patrick's Mike Ross, with the pair leaving the show the same year she married Prince Harry.
Patrick, Gabriel, Gina and their co-star Rick Hoffman all attended the wedding in London.

Suits has seen a huge surge in popularity in recent years, with Meghan herself speaking about its surprising resurgence, telling Variety in November last year, "Isn't it wild?"
She added that she had "no idea" why there was so much interest in it again, but added, "We had a really fun time. I was on it for seven seasons, so quite a bit. But it’s hard to find a show you can binge-watch that many episodes of these days, so that could have something to do with it. But good shows are everlasting."
