The New Rao’s Item Costco Shoppers Say Is ‘As Good As Their Sauce’
When a Costco product goes viral, there’s no getting in the way of its meteoric rise to fame. Whether or not the product comes from one of the bulk retailer's in-house brands is not necessarily a factor. It’s the power of word-of-mouth that truly makes a new item go viral.
We saw this happen in real time with Rao’s internet famous pasta sauce. The brand had been identified as being available at a number of different retailers, and fans of its Italian roots and authentic flavor rushed to their local retailers in search of a jar. Now, freshly acquired by The Campbell’s Company , Rao’s is back at it with another offering for Costco shoppers to obsess over: Brick Oven Pizza.

Frozen pizza can be a pretty controversial topic, but it’s an undeniable truth that a good frozen pie can be a 5-star meal while either on a budget or in a pinch. Perfect for quick family dinners or a humble meal for one, once you get your hands on a quality brand of frozen pizza, it’s hard not to want to stock up. This seems to be the case for Rao’s new Italian Sausage Arrabiata Pizza, a frozen 2-count offering that retails for just $15.49.

First and foremost, the new frozen pizza offering already has a leg up on the competition, thanks to its famous Rao’s name. Fans have been referring to it as “so delish” and “just as good as their sauce,” which says a lot for an affordable, frozen food item. The pizzas are made with authentic vine ripened Italian tomatoes and real whole milk mozzarella cheese, aiding in the rumored delicious taste of the pie.
Those interested in picking a box of two pies to sample at home should note that the flavor has been described as being “a tad on the spicier side.” That can entirely be due to the Italian sausage, though. A quick look on Rao's website shows that the brand also offers pepperoni, meat trio, five cheese and fire roasted vegetable options as well.
As of now, it seems that Costco is only stocking the Italian Sausage Arrabiata 2-count, so we’ll have to see what the future holds as far as the other varieties go. In the meantime, snag yourself an Italian sausage pie and get ready to enjoy it’s crispy, flavorful goodness in 15 minutes or less.
