Universal shared in December that the film “is a mythic action epic shot across the world using brand new Imax film technology. The film brings Homer’s foundational saga to Imax film screens for the first time.”
Homer’s ancient Greek epic poem “The Odyssey” remains one of the oldest pieces of literature still read by modern audiences. It chronicles the story of Greek hero Odysseus during his tumultuous journey home following the Trojan War.
Gavron is best known for his role in “A Star is Born” for director Bradley Cooper, opposite Cooper and Lady Gaga. He began his career in a breakout lead role in Anthony Minghella’s film “Breaking and Entering” opposite Jude Law and Juliette Binoche, earning a nomination for best newcomer at the British Independent Film Awards.
Next January, Gavron will star in Amazon MGM’s sci-fi thriller feature film, “Mercy,” with Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson. In 2024, Gavron made his stage debut on Broadway opposite Academy Award winner Robert Downey Jr. in the play “McNeal,” from Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Ayad Akhtar and director Bartlett Sher.
Gavron’s recent television work includes the Showtime and Paramount + limited series “Ghosts of Beirut,” and two seasons of the 1960s crime drama “Godfather of Harlem” opposite Oscar winner Forest Whitaker. Additional credits are Hulu’s Seth MacFarlane-produced horror feature adaptation of Clive Barker’s “Books of Blood” with Anna Friel and Britt Robertson, a recurring role on HBO’s “Westworld” and Hulu’s limited series “Catch 22” from producer/director George Clooney.
Fernandez’s prior film roles include “Evil Dead,” “Deadgirl,” “Red Riding Hood” and “Continue.” On television, he has appeared in series such as “Jericho,” “United States of Tara” and “Euphoria.”
Gavron is represented by Gersh, Affirmative Entertainment, and Brecheen Feldman Breimer Silver & Thompson.
