Rachel Lindsay had her doubts about Bryan Abasolo long before their divorce came to light.

The former Bachelorette joined the ladies of The View as a guest host on Tuesday, Dec. 3 and when the topic of Nikki Garcia and Artem Chigvintsev's divorce came up, Lindsay, 39, said she could relate to what Garcia said about feeling a sense of pressure from the public to keep the relationship up.

"I know this all too well right now. For those of you who don’t know, I met my ex on The Bachelor. We’re currently going through a divorce right now, and it’s really interesting," Lindsay began, shedding new light on her ongoing divorce from Abasolo, 44, which he filed for in January.

"We met, we dated for two and a half years, we went and got married. And we were looked at as one of the more successful relationships that came from the show. Anywhere I went, people would ask me about my relationship.... And you feel the public pressure to always let people know that things are great, even though behind closed doors, that might not be the case — or you’re working on it, or you’re having a bad day or whatever it might be," she explained.

"A lot of that is wrapped up in shame. You don’t want to say that it fell. You’re scared, you don’t want people to see you in a different way," Lindsay continued.

When Abby Huntsman, who was also a guest host for the episode, and Whoopi Goldberg asked Lindsay when she started feeling doubts in her marriage, the former lawyer got even more candid.

"It’s even hard to admit it publicly now. I would say that probably I saw signs before the marriage, but as women, we’re fixers and we think that we can figure it out. They’re a challenge to us! But eventually I saw it more. I would say within two years, and we were married for four and a half."

After sharing how she dealt with her own doubts and the pressure she felt on her relationship, Lindsay offered some advice. "Your identity becomes wrapped up in the relationship and you’re afraid that’s the only way people see you. But I’m here to tell you, it’s not. You can take your power back, you can find your power within. No one has to dim their light."

Since their divorce began at the beginning of the year, new light has been shed on the nature of Lindsay and Abasolo's marriage, as they have both shared that they dealt with doubts about the relationship.

In August, Lindsay said she "felt weird" when Abasolo proposed on the finale episode of The Bachelorette, and she remembered feeling "scared" and "weirded out" in the aftermath.

"After that first night, I was like, there's potential here, but I was still like, there's no way I'm gonna marry this person," she said on Getting Grilled with Curtis Stone.

Abasolo, for his part, said that they were "going to marriage counseling" and he "was sleeping in a different bedroom" before he filed for divorce. "We didn't spend enough time with each other," he told his divorce coach Rene Garcia in an interview posted online.

The chiropractor also alleged in a July divorce filing that Lindsay wanted him "out of the way" and "not involved in 'Hollywood,'" as he described feeling "stuck at home and stuck at work with a wife who never wanted to be around me."
