A royal biographer has revealed what the Queen‘s really like when she’s behind closed doors, including what a “great sense of humour” she has.

Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine, says the 92-year-old monarch is different, depending on the circumstances.

“If you meet her officially, she’s formal and tiny and beautiful and you talk about horses, that’s what I can always talk about with her,” She tells Yahoo UK‘s The Royal Box.

But Ms Seward reveals there’s another side to Her Majesty when she’s in a more relaxed setting and can let her guard down among friends. She spoke about one encounter she had with the Queen at a semi-private party.

“Everyone had a nickname and she spoke in riddles and this is what it feels like to be one of her friends.”

“[She has a] Great sense of humour and her whole face was relaxed and smiling and she was telling funny stories, she’s quite a wit.”

The Queen, who will turn 93 next month, posted her first Instagram photo at the Science Museum last week.
