Producers Guild Feature Documentary Nominees Include ‘Super/Man,’ ‘Mountain Queen,’ ‘Porcelain War’
The Producers Guild of America 2025 nominees for Outstanding Producer of Documentary Motion Picture award include “Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story,” “Gaucho Gaucho,” “Mediha,” “Mountain Queen: The Summits of Lhakpa Sherpa,” “Porcelain War” and “We Will Dance Again.”
Winners will be announced at the PGA Awards on Feb. 8 at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles.

“Super/Man” was named among the top five documentaries of the year by NBR and is a nominee for the Cinema Eye Honors. “Porcelain War,” about the challenges faced by artists in Ukraine, won the Sundance Grand Jury documentary prize. “Mountain Queen,” about a single mother who is a mountain climber, won the TIFF People’s Choice audience award for documentary. “Gaucho Gaucho,” from the filmmakers of “The Truffle Hunters,” is nominated for an Indie Spirit documentary award. “Mediha” won the grand jury prize at Doc NYC, while “We Will Dance Again,” about the Supernova Music Festival massacre, won two awards at the Documentary Edge festival.
Last year’s winning producers were Lauren Domino, Matthew Heineman and Joedan Okun for “American Symphony,” the story of musician Jon Batiste’s journey composing a symphony while his wife went through cancer treatment.
Nominees for sports, children’s and short form television will be announced Friday, while nominees for theatrical motion picture, animated motion picture, television series/specials and televised/streamed motion pictures will be announced Jan. 10. The PGA honorees this year include Chris Meledandri with the David O. Selznick Achievement Award and Dana Walden with the Milestone Award.
The 2025 Producers Guild Awards Event Chairs are Mike Farah and Joe Farrell, with Anchor Street Collective producing and Jody Lambert, Lauren Cortizo and Matt Oberg writing. Branden Chapman is executive producer, and Carleen Cappelletti is co-executive producer.
