Buckingham Palace also confirmed the news sharing an official announcement online.

“The baby weighs 8lbs 1oz.

Eugenie and Jack, who works as the European brand director of Casamigos Tequila, married in St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle in October 2018.

They confirmed they were expecting a baby in September 2020, revealing they were “so excited” for early 2021.

A spokesman for the palace also added: “Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.”

His name has not yet been announced for the baby boy, but according to UK bookmakers Arthur was likely.

The baby is the Queen’s ninth great-grandchild and is 11th in line to the throne.

The boy bumps Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex, down in the line of succession, as well as his children, and Princess Anne, who comes after him owing to an old law.

Younger brothers previously bumped their older sisters out of their place in the line to the throne. That law was updated in 2013 but does not apply retrospectively.

Prince Charles and Camilla sent their congratulations to the new parents through their Clarence House Instagram.

“Congratulations to Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank on the birth of their son,” the message read, alongside an image from the couple’s wedding day.

Eugenie’s Anti-Slavery collective also tweeted: “On behalf of everyone at The Anti-Slavery Collective, we want to say congratulations to our co-founder, HRH Princess Eugenie, on the birth of her baby.”

The princess chose Portland Hospital to deliver her son, following in the footsteps of Meghan Markle.

Eugenie’s older cousin Zara Tindall, another of the Queen’s granddaughters is also expecting a baby, to be the Queen’s 10th great-grandchild.

Mike Tindall, a former England rugby star, shared the happy news of the impending arrival of the “third Tindall” in his weekly podcast back in December.

Zara’s pregnancy comes after the couple suffered two miscarriages, something Mike also touched on during the announcement.
