Royally misbehaved! Princess Charlotte pokes her tongue out instead of waving
They may have the benefit of a prestigious, Norland-trained nanny, but the Cambridge children are just children after all, and they’ll misbehave if they want to.
In a hilariously candid moment at the end of the King’s Cup yachting regatta on Thursday, young Princess Charlotte poked her tongue out at the crowd after her mum Kate Middleton encouraged her to give a wave.
Both the Duchess and the crowd reacted in the same way to the cheeky move, bursting into laughter at the four-year-old’s gesture.
Kate and Prince William both competed separately in the yacht race, with Charlotte and her older brother Prince George watching on from another boat with Kate’s parents, Michael, 70, and Carole Middleton, 64.
Unfortunately for the Duchess, she was awarded the wooden spoon for her yacht’s poor performance, but it’s safe to say she got the last laugh when her daughter made her thoughts on the matter known (we can only assume, of course) at the winner’s ceremony.
William fared better in the race, finishing equal third, but first place was claimed by reality TV star Bear Grylls, who made an interesting comment about George as he accepted his trophy.
“And also Prince George, your first ant you ate today,” he said, “And that is a great moment. Well done you.”
Six-year-old George looked to be having a blast with the other kids on the day, and was dressed in a $14 navy and white H&M polo top.
Meanwhile Charlotte was more expensively dressed in a $160 Ralph Lauren frock, according to blogger WhatKatesKidsWore.
It’s been reported that Kate and William’s one-year-old son Prince Louis was also in attendance.
