Prince William Shares Message About Wife Kate's Cancer Journey in First Appearance Since Health Update

After Kate Middleton and her family shared the good news on Sept. 9 that the royal concluded her chemotherapy treatment for cancer, Prince William made his first public appearance and commented on what's next for his wife.

As he chatted with people while visiting the town of Llanelli, South Wales, receiving words of support from locals, William told them of the update, "It's good news but there is still a long way to go," emphasizing that Kate and the family will continue to focus on her recovery, as reported by Hello!

The same sentiment was shared in Kate's message, which she posted along with a touching video of the royal family, including Kate and William's three kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Commenting on the future, Kate wrote, "Doing what I can to stay cancer free is now my focus. Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes."

She also shared a small update on what the public can expect from her in the coming months regarding her return to royal duties, saying, "I am however looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can."

William seemed happy as he visited a primary school, the Wales Air Ambulance headquarters, and the Scarlets Rugby Union team during his trip to South Wales. Many people offered William cards and warm sentiments for Kate during her cancer treatment, with William telling them, "Thank you very much, very much appreciated."

Recently, supporters of the royal family were excited to see Kate make an appearance with her daughter Charlotte at Wimbledon in July, while she was also spotted attending a church service with her family in Scotland in August.
