How Prince William Plans to "Spoil" Kate Middleton on Her Birthday
The itinerary may even include one of his least favorite hobbies.
Kate Middleton is celebrating a big milestone this week, and after the year she's had, her husband Prince William is planning on making her birthday celebration extra special this year. Middleton is turning 43 on Thursday, January 9, and William wants to "spoil" his wife after her cancer battle.
"Even though he says he's not a very good cook, Catherine did tell Mary Berry that he's quite good at breakfasts so maybe a tray—complete with a rose—will arrive early for her," royal expert Jennie Bond told OK!, adding that even though the milestone falls on a week day, William and their kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, are going all out.
"For her husband and children, this will be an excuse to spoil her rotten and, even though it falls on a school day, I'm sure that's exactly what they'll do," Bond continued. While Middleton revealed in August that she had finished chemotherapy, her family will likely treat her to things that will ease any lasting side effects, per Bond. "I imagine they will shower her with gifts—perhaps some pampering products like luxurious bath oils and scented candles," the expert added. "Maybe William will buy her some silk pyjamas or cashmere jumpers—things that are soft on skin [after] treatment."
All in all, it's going to be one to remember. "This birthday is going to be memorable in so many ways—it will mark the start of a new and hopefully happier year and the end of one that has been brutal for the whole family."
Other than the heaps of presents she's set to receive from William and their children, Middleton plans to keep her birthday rather low key. In the past, the Wales family has stayed at their Norfolk home, Anmer Hall, after the holidays to keep the festivities going through Princess Kate's birthday. This year, however, Middleton and her family will celebrate at Adelaide Cottage in Windsor likely because classes start on January 8, according to their school's website.
