Harry and Wills on the moment Charles told them Diana had died

They’ve famously stayed quiet on discussing the details of their mother’s death but Prince William and Prince Harry have now revealed everything about the moment they found out Princess Diana had passed away.

The British royals opened up in a candid documentary on the life of Princess Diana, called Diana, 7 Days, which is set to air on BBC in the UK this Sunday.

“One of the hardest things for a parent to have to do is to tell your children that your other parent has died,” Prince Harry says in the documentary, according to the Daily Mail.

“But he was there for us, he was the one out of two left and he tried to do his best and to make sure we were protected and looked after.

“But, you know, he was going through the same grieving process as well.”

Prince Harry also spoke about his disgust at the people who chased her into the tunnel snapping images of Diana as she lay dying in the car, claiming it is one of the “hardest things to come to terms with”.

The BBC announced in June that they would be collaborating with Prince William and Prince Harry to make a documentary about their mother.

They claimed at the time that the princes felt they needed to “stand up for” their mother and felt they had let her down by not protecting her name.

In the documentary, Prince William says she didn’t want let his mother’s death “break him” because he wanted her to be proud of him.

“I didn’t want her legacy to be that William and/or Harry were completely and utterly devastated by it and that all the hard work and all the love and the energy she put into us when we were younger would go to waste,” he said.
