The family wore matching blue attire as they celebrated Easter while the Queen was absent from the celebrations.

But fans were quick to point out an interesting detail in the snap - Prince Louis was nowhere to be seen.

After E! News posted a picture of the incomplete family on Instagram today, hundreds of people pointed out the absence of the three-year-old prince.

"Don't they have three kids?" one person wrote.

"Am I the only one who wonders where Louis always is? He's never with the family," wrote another.

"Where is Louis? He wasn't at the Duke's remembrance service either!!" commented a third.

Royal watchers offer reason for young prince's absence

With no official word from the palace on the matter, many royal watchers have speculated that Prince Louis hasn't been spotted at recent events simply because of his age.

"He's too young to stay quiet for more than two hours in the church," one person wrote on Instagram.

"Louis is too young to attend these very formal events, he has to grow into staying quiet," wrote another.

"Is he a little tearaway that won't stay still? That would be so funny!" wrote a third.

Instagram account @theroyalwatcher also addressed Louis' absence after posting images of the family at the Easter service.

"[He's] probably too young. If he's not one to sit still (and most kids can't), it's probably easier to leave him home," the royal enthusiast wrote.

Despite Louis' absence from recent events, his parents continue to share tales of the young prince.

In March, duchess Kate gave a shout-out to her children during a speech at the Bahamas, saying: "our three children, George, Charlotte and Louis, all love being by the sea."

Prince William also recently mentioned that Louis, along with his siblings, has been asking him about the situation in Ukraine.
