William and Kate's next royal tour has officially been announced

Prince William and Kate will officially be headed to Pakistan on a royal tour later this year.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are set to visit the south Asian country in a few months' time, with more details to be released in due course.

“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will undertake an official visit to Pakistan this autumn, at the request of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office,” a statement from Kensington Palace read. “Further details will be advised in due course.”

At this stage it’s not clear whether any or all of the couple’s three children - Prince George, five, Princess Charlotte, four, and Prince Louis, one - will join them on the visit.

This will be the first time William and Kate will undertake a royal tour of Pakistan, which is a member of the Commonwealth.

The Queen previously visited the country in 1997, as well as Princess Diana, who visited a few years before that.

Baby Archie will join Harry and Meghan on royal tour

It comes just days after it was revealed The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will tour South Africa later this year with their baby son.

Harry and Meghan revealed their excitement about their overseas trip on their official Instagram page last week, and appeared to confirm that their son will be joining them.

“The Duke and Duchess are really looking forward to meeting so many of you on the ground and continuing to raise awareness of the high impact work local communities are doing across the commonwealth and beyond.

“This will be their first official tour as a family!”

On Thursday, Buckingham Palace confirmed the duke and duchess “will undertake an official visit to South Africa this Autumn at the request of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.”

The palace added that Harry will also visit Angola, Malawi and Botswana.
