Why Harry and William ‘will wear the same suits’ for Philip’s funeral
Prince Harry and Prince William are expected to dress in similar suits for Prince Philip’s funeral to try and ensure the spotlight stays off their ‘rift’.
Prince Harry returned his honorary military appointments to the Queen when he stepped away from his role as a senior member of the royal family last year.
Prince William still holds a number of honorary military titles, including Commodore-in-Chief of the Royal Navy Submarine Service, Colonel of the Irish Guards and Honorary Air Commandant of RAF Coningsby.
However, according to a royal expert, while Prince William could wear one of his military uniforms on the day, it’s likely he will dress in a regular suit to put him and Prince Harry on equal footing.

“Anything that distinguished the brothers in that way, which would be so obvious for anyone watching, would probably be avoided,” royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told The Sun.
“The whole thing we do not want is any form of rift.
“My opinion is that they would do everything possible to make sure that the spotlight on this very, very important day is where it should be, and that‘s on truly remarkable achievements of someone with superhuman energy who did so much for Queen and country.”
Indeed, all eyes will be on Prince Harry and his reunion with his father, Prince Charles and brother Prince William.
Prince Harry has not been pictured with his family since he and his wife, Meghan Markle, decided to leave their roles in the royal family and move to California last year.
It will also be the first time the family will have the chance to sit down and speak face-to-face after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s explosive interview last month with Oprah Winfrey.
Royal sources are hoping the family will unite in grief over their grandfather’s death.
“There has been so much bad blood but everyone is hoping that, perhaps, this will mark the beginning of a reconciliation,” a source told the Mail on Sunday.
“They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Everyone will be watching the funeral closely to see the body language between the brothers.”
In his interview with Oprah Winfrey last month, Prince Harry revealed the extent of the tension in his relationships with his father and brother.
Prince Harry said Prince Charles stopped answering his calls after he and Meghan Markle moved to California.
He also claimed he was cut off financially and revealed the pair had a lot to work through before they could heal things between them.
When asked about his relationship with his brother Prince William, he said "I love him to bits".
"He's my brother, we've been through hell together," he said.
"And we have a shared experience. But we, you know, we have different paths."
