Prince Harry 'heartbroken by situation with royals'
Prince Harry is ‘heartbroken’ over the current situation with his family after a ‘difficult year for all’ a trusted member of his circle has confirmed.
Tom Bradby, a friend of the Prince and the journalist who filmed the famous ITV documentary with Harry and Meghan on their 2019 tour of South Africa, says the duo are now ‘content’ with their LA lives but lingering sadness about their separation from the royals remains.
The comments all but confirm rumours that Harry and the rest of the family remain locked in a rift, despite reports of attempts to bridge the gap.
Speaking in an interview set to be aired this weekend on UK program Love Your Weekend With Alan Titchmarsh, the news anchor opened up about how the Sussexes feel about their relationship with the family, and their happier lives on the other side of the ocean.
“So are they unhappy? No, I think they are content, the things they are doing they are quite excited by,” he told Titchmarsh.
“I think he is heartbroken by the situation with his family, you don’t necessarily need to have knowledge to know that, but I think it is true.”

Asked why, the news anchor reluctantly elaborated, though after his involvement in the documentary mere months before Harry and Meghan broke away in their now infamous ‘Megxit’, he said he was wary of getting caught up in the situation or making matters ‘worse’.
“Well, just the situation with the family clearly isn’t ideal and it has been a very difficult year for them all,’ he conceded.
“To some extent, I felt a little bit caught in the middle of them with that documentary which is a deeply uncomfortable place to be and that is, in a way, why I am always reluctant to say anything more because I don’t want to make anything worse or get in between anything or anything like that.”
It comes as royal fans were hopeful things were on the mend between Harry and William, after the Sussexes reportedly extended an olive branch by way of a heartfelt gift and note to Kate Middleton for her birthday on January 9.
The news won’t be a huge surprise to anyone, however, after a royal biographer, last week claimed that despite reports Harry and Meghan left their royals as senior royals over poor press coverage, it was in fact Harry’s longtime desire to escape "subservience" to Prince William that sealed the deal.
