Q. What motivates you most in your work?

My primary motivation is to improve people's quality of life by giving them self-awareness and self-management strategies based on research, not opinion. Many people feel overwhelmed during their daily lives, so a few basic changes can really make a difference, but they often just don't know where to start.

Q. What one thing would you like to have more of in your day?

Time, of course! Who said 'so much to do and so little time'? But one thing I have learned in my mental-exercise regimen is to be grateful and to savour the positives. I always try to take time every day to focus on these two things.

Q. What is your wellbeing wish for Australian women 40+?

That's easy: confidence! Many Australian women still haven't worked out how fabulous and competent they are. Research tells us that women often attribute their successes (or things they do well) to external factors. For example, I got lucky or Anyone could do this, instead of saying I do this well because I am good at it. This attitude holds women back and, I think, affects their wellbeing and physical-health outcomes. If you believe in yourself and your abilities, anything is possible.
