Week 24 of your Pregnancy

You

Crazy dreams are not uncommon in pregnancy – there’s lots of good reasons, the hormones, the impending life changes – and sharing your body with a rather mobile small person. However at this stage of your pregnancy you are probably sleeping relatively well. If you are able to take some time off in the next month or two, and you can afford it, this is a great time to take a holiday, while you’re still relatively comfortable.

Baby

Your baby now measures around 21cm and weighs around half a kilo. His lungs are now starting to develop an important substance called surfactant, which lines the small air sacs in his lungs, helping them to inflate more easily and preventing them from collapsing. He is practicing his breathing by inhaling amniotic fluid into his developing lungs – and he will even get the hiccups!
